Let's start strong!
Greetings student scientists!
In our first few days of class we are going to spend a lot of time getting to know each other. You'll learn about my expectations in class, what we are going to discover through science this year, and how things will operate in our class community. We will also have the chance to get to know each other. If you read this post, here is my first challenge to you:
Think about how you connect to science. What interests you? What phenomena about yourself or this universe gives you more meaning and understanding? We are going to be doing a fun activity that lets you express how you connect to science and displaying it in our class, so start exploring these questions.
Also, spend some time getting to know our class blog and website because you are going to be acting as a science blogger at times throughout the year. We are going to be showcasing a lot of the projects we will doing in class and with the cooperation of your classmates, you will provide the content!
A note from your teacher: I look forward to getting to know each of you this year! To make our learning community as strong as possible, remember that it my job to create environment where you feel confident, safe, and respected as we explore the world of science. That is my duty. If you ever feel otherwise, I am always here with a listening ear.
