What is a Reebop? Where does it come from? Today we will use what we've learned about heredity to engineer these mysterious creatures.
As we go through this lab, record your results in journal on a page lableled Reebop Heredity. Answer the question in the introduction as a complete sentence.
2) Flip a coin to determine what alleles the mother and father will have. Heads means a dominant trait will be expressed. Tails means a recessive trait will be expressed. Starting with the mother, flip for each Genotype. Decide who the mother will be between you and your shoulder partner, then flip!
Now flip the coin to decide for the father.
Note: In order to begin building your Reebop, you must pay my penny back to me. Break the tooth picks in half for the legs and antenna and color them with the colored pencils.
Next, answer the following questions in your journal. After you answer these questions, work with the other group members of your table to make another generation of Reebop!
7. With the other shoulder partners at your table, create a Punnet Square to create the next generation of Reebop. Pick one trait for each of your Reebops, for example, leg color. Use the alleles from the genotypes to make find the probability for the phenotype using a Punnet Square.
